NxNW6 film listings Nov 2nd-8th

Time again for the weekly West Hampstead film round-up brought to you by Mark - the Jean Reno of NW6 (tweeting at @NxNW6).

Film Listings for Nov 2-8
Film news: Thank you to the 30 local people who joined us at the Swiss Cottage Odeon for Skyfall in IMAX last Friday night. I hope you enjoyed your ‘M’ cocktail and more importantly, the movie. We will be arranging similar events in the future so keep a lookout. Film-wise this week we have the UK Jewish Film Festival kicking off at the Tricycle and an acclaimed film from across the channel makes film of the week.

Film of the Week

Rust and Bone (2012, drama, 120 mins, French with subtitles, 15)
New film from Jacques Audiard (A Prophet, The Beat that my Heart Skipped). Very popular at Cannes and likely to garner numerous Oscar nominations (not least for Cotillard). I won't mention the plot here as the less you know about this one, the better. Worth noting that as this is an Art film with a capital A, it will not be to everyone's taste.
At the Belsize Park and Maida Vale Everyman as well as both multiplexes from Fri.

One-off screenings
UK Jewish Film Fesitval The Tricycle
More than 70 films are planned for the Jewish Film Festival across the UK over the next three weeks and the Tricycle is a London hub for its duration. I've picked out three highlights over the next seven days but for a full programme please see the website.

Dorfman (2011, romantic comedy, 90 mins, 18) Sun 20:00 £12
Romantic comedy set in the San Fernando Valley with Elliott Gould (M*A*S*H, Ocean's Eleven). Winner of the best screenplay prize at the Hollywood Film Festival. The screening also includes the 15 mins short The North London Book of the Dead.
All In (La Suerte en tus Manos) (2012, romantic comedy, 113 mins, Spanish with subtitles, 18). Tue 20:50 £12.
Argentinian film that picked up best screenplay at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. It has been described as poignant and bitingly funny.
The Price of Kings: Shimon Peres plus director Q&A (2011, documentary, 77 mins, 18) Wed 18:45 £8
Shimon Peres: the last of the founders of Israel - twice Prime Minister and current President is the subject of a documentary that reveals the human sacrifice required of political leadership. Narrated by Helena Bonham Carter.

Eclipse Theatre: 10by10 The Tricycle Mon 20:45 £TBC
